I-San

A water thin double QAC & Glutaraldehyde based detergent disinfectant, with a recommended dilution of 1:50. I-San contains:

Benzalkonium Chloride
Paticularly effective against gram positive bacteria, some viruses, fungi and protozoa.
Didecyldimethylammonium Chloride
Broad spectrum bacteriacidal and fungicidal disinfectant.
Glutaraldehyde
A broad spectrum disinfectaning agent paticularly effective against spores.
Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid
Essentially used as a water conditioner to neutralise hard water particles that interfere with detergency. EDTA is paticularly effective with QAC's where it forms a synergystic bond enhancing their performance and "potency".
Non-ionic Surfactants
QAC's have cationic properties and hence cannot be used with normal anionic surfactants such as those found in common detergents like shampoo and dishwashing liquids. Non-ionics do not interfere with cationics. They also offer superior detergency with emulsifying properties.

I-San has been formulated to be effective against a broad spectrum of pathogens in all water conditions. We have carefully selected our ingredients to ensure that they are not harmful to the user, yet are still very effective. I-San is laboratory tested in accordance with SANS 51276 (EN1276), is Food Safe and SABS 1853 certified and mark approved. As a detergent disinfectant it is also registered with the National Regulator.

I-San is best used in commercial kitchens and food processing plants as the second step (sanitising step) following cleaning with a Food Safe detergent such as I-Surface. As a disinfectant, it will sanitise a surface, leaving it completely pathogen free. We recommend applying I-San (diluted) with a spray applicator, wiping with a cloth and rinsing with clean water. Alternatively, it may be applied to a surface and allowed to dry overnight. The surface should then be rinsed the following day before work resumes. I-San is not corrosive and will not damage work tops.
